Withdrawal Policy
Archives of Community Medicine and Public Health (ACMPH) identifies the importance of maintaining trust among authors and ensures best practices in scholarly publishing by strictly adhering to well-structured policies. These policies are designed to maintain transparency, integrity, and ethical conduct in the publication process.
Corrections Policy
To maintain accuracy and integrity, corrections are handled in the following manner:
- Prior to Final Publication: After the author submits the revised manuscript, the peer-review council checks for the implementation of all recommended suggestions. Once verified, galley proofs are sent to the author for proofreading, and necessary corrections are made before final publication.
- After Final Publication: Once an article is published, changes related to author names, affiliations, and content modifications are not entertained. However, if a critical mistake is detected that significantly impacts the research or publication records, modifications may be allowed upon formal request from the corresponding author.
Article Retraction Policy
The journal adheres to COPE guidelines for handling article retractions. Retraction may occur in cases of:
- Unethical practices: Fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
- Multiple submissions: If the same article is submitted to multiple journals.
- Fake authorship: Misrepresentation of author contributions.
- Fraudulent conduct: Any other form of unethical behavior that compromises research integrity.
- Genuine errors: Authors may request retraction to correct mistakes in the research data.
Retraction Process: Authors must submit a signed retraction request letter. Upon approval, all versions of the article (HTML, PDF, and promotional links) will be removed from the ACMPH database and other platforms.
Withdrawal Policy
Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript by submitting a formal letter to the editorial office, stating the reasons for withdrawal. However, withdrawal fees apply as follows:
- Before Plagiarism Checking: $0 (No charges)
- After Plagiarism Checking but Before Peer Review: $249
- After Peer Review Process: $749
- At Final Proof Stage: $749
Note: Unethical withdrawal (e.g., withdrawing to submit to another journal) may result in blacklisting of the authors.
Article Replacement Policy
In cases where a published article contains serious flaws that may pose a health risk, the authors may request to replace it with a corrected version. The replacement process follows ethical guidelines to ensure the accuracy and credibility of research.
Legal Reasons for Article Removal
In rare cases, ACMPH may need to remove an article due to legal constraints. Reasons for removal include:
- Defamation: Articles containing false and damaging statements.
- Infringement of Legal Rights: Copyright violations or unauthorized use of intellectual property.
- Court Orders: Cases where the article is subject to legal proceedings.
- Serious Public Health Risks: If the article contains content that may lead to health hazards.
In such instances, the article will be removed from ACMPH’s online database, and a notification will be displayed stating the legal reasons for removal.
Policy Review and Revisions
ACMPH regularly revisits its publication policies to align with international standards and best practices in the publishing industry. These policies are subject to periodic updates to reflect advancements in research ethics and scholarly publishing guidelines.
