Archives of Community Medicine and Public Health (ACMPH) is committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in all financial transactions while maintaining the integrity of its publishing operations. Our Refund Policy is designed to provide clarity to authors regarding Article Processing Charges (APCs) and other payments. While we strive to serve authors with utmost care and dedication, certain financial transactions may be non-refundable.

General Refund Policy

We would like to inform authors that once an Article Processing Charge (APC) has been paid, the refund is generally not applicable due to the administrative, editorial, and processing costs already incurred. Specific refund policies are outlined below:

Non-Refundable Cases

  • Author-Initiated Cancellation: If an author requests to cancel the publication after making the APC payment, the payment will not be refunded.
  • Advance Payment Commitment: If an author makes a partial or advance payment and later withdraws from publication, the paid amount will not be refunded.
  • Article Withdrawal After Acceptance: Once a manuscript is accepted and the author chooses to withdraw it, no refund shall be processed.
  • Retraction Due to Ethical Violations: If a manuscript is retracted due to plagiarism, unethical research, or author misconduct, no refund will be issued.
  • Delayed Publication: Refunds will not be provided for delays in the publication process caused by editorial workflow or unforeseen circumstances.

Situations Where Refunds May Be Considered

While refund requests are generally not accepted, exceptions may be considered under the following circumstances:

  • Overpayment: If an author makes an excess payment due to a technical error, the extra amount will be refunded.
  • Duplicate Payment: If an author mistakenly makes multiple payments for the same article, the excess amount will be refunded.

Refund Request Process

Authors requesting a refund must submit a formal request via email, including:

  • Manuscript Title
  • Manuscript ID
  • Payment Details (Transaction ID, date, amount)
  • Reason for Refund Request

The request will be reviewed by the editorial and financial teams, and authors will receive a response within 7–10 business days. If approved, the refund will be processed within 14 business days.

Processing Fees and Deductions

If a refund is approved, the following deductions may apply:

  • Bank Transaction Fees: Payment gateway and banking transaction fees will be deducted.
  • Administrative Processing Fees: A small fee may be retained to cover administrative and processing costs.

Commitment to Authors

ACMPH values the trust of its authors and strives to provide the highest level of service. While refund policies are in place to protect the integrity of our publishing process, we remain dedicated to ensuring author satisfaction and a smooth publication experience.
