Waiver Policy
Archives of Community Medicine and Public Health (ACMPH) is committed to promoting inclusive and equitable access to scientific knowledge. We understand that some authors may face financial constraints, and therefore, we offer a Waiver Policy to support researchers who may have difficulty covering Article Processing Charges (APCs).
Eligibility for Waiver
Authors may be eligible for a partial or full waiver of the Article Processing Charge (APC) under the following conditions:
- Authors from Low-Income Countries: Researchers affiliated with institutions in low-income or lower-middle-income countries as classified by the World Bank.
- Financial Hardship: Authors facing genuine financial difficulties may apply for a waiver with proper justification.
- Early-Career Researchers: Young researchers and graduate students without institutional funding may request a waiver.
- Exceptional Cases: Authors with significant contributions to the field but lacking financial support can apply on a case-by-case basis.
Types of Waivers Offered
ACMPH provides the following waiver options:
- Full Waiver: The entire APC is waived for authors who demonstrate significant financial hardship.
- Partial Waiver: A discount of up to 50% on the APC for eligible authors.
- Institutional Waiver: Special waivers may be provided for authors supported by organizations with funding agreements with ACMPH.
Application Process
To apply for a waiver, authors must submit a formal request before making an APC payment. The request should include:
- Manuscript Title and Manuscript ID
- Author Details: Name, institution, country, and email address
- Reason for Waiver Request: A brief explanation of financial constraints
- Supporting Documents: If applicable, proof of low-income status or funding limitations
The editorial board reviews waiver requests within 7-10 business days, and the decision is communicated to the corresponding author.
Conditions and Limitations
- Waivers are granted at the discretion of the editorial board.
- Only one waiver per author per year will be considered.
- Waiver requests should be made before manuscript acceptance; requests after acceptance may not be considered.
- Waivers do not affect the peer review process; all manuscripts undergo rigorous peer review.
Commitment to Open Science
As part of our commitment to open-access publishing and global knowledge dissemination, ACMPH continuously strives to make high-quality research accessible to all, regardless of financial constraints.
