Archives of Community Medicine and Public Health (ACMPH) operates under an Open Access publishing model, ensuring free and unrestricted access to all published content. To support the costs associated with high-quality open-access publishing, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon acceptance of their manuscript.

What Do Article Processing Charges (APCs) Cover?

The APC ensures that all articles published in ACMPH are freely accessible online and includes:

  • Editorial Processing: Handling of manuscripts, peer review coordination, and editorial decision-making.
  • Peer Review Management: Ensuring a double-blind peer review process by expert reviewers.
  • Manuscript Formatting: Copyediting, typesetting, and layout design.
  • Digital Archiving: Ensuring long-term preservation through repositories such as Portico and CNKI.
  • Indexing Services: Registration in major databases such as CrossRef, OAI-PMH, and Scilit.
  • DOI Assignment: Each article receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for permanent citation.
  • Open-Access Hosting: Maintaining a fully accessible online platform.

Waiver Policy

ACMPH is committed to supporting researchers with financial constraints. Waivers or discounts on APCs may be granted in the following cases:

  • Authors from Low-Income Countries: Researchers from low-income economies as classified by the World Bank may apply for a waiver.
  • Financial Hardship: Authors who lack institutional or grant funding can request a discount.
  • Early-Career Researchers: Graduate students and postdoctoral researchers may be eligible for reduced APCs.
  • Special Cases: Waivers may be provided at the discretion of the editorial board.

To apply for a waiver, authors must submit a formal request before manuscript acceptance.

Payment Methods

Payments can be made through the following methods:

  • Bank Transfer: Bank details will be provided upon invoice generation.
  • Credit/Debit Card: Secure online payment options are available.
  • Institutional Payments: Payments may be covered by research grants or institutions.

Refund Policy

Once an APC has been paid, it is generally non-refundable, except in the following cases:

  • Duplicate Payment: If an author accidentally makes a duplicate payment, the excess amount will be refunded.
  • Manuscript Rejection Before Payment Processing: If a manuscript is rejected before APC payment, no charge is applied.
