Repository Policy
Archives of Community Medicine and Public Health (ACMPH) is committed to ensuring maximum visibility, accessibility, and impact of published research. Our Repository Policy supports authors in depositing their work in institutional and subject-based repositories to promote open science and knowledge dissemination.
Self-Archiving and Repository Policy
ACMPH allows and encourages authors to self-archive their articles in repositories of their choice. Authors may deposit the following versions of their work:
- Preprint Version: The original manuscript before peer review can be deposited in preprint servers such as arXiv, bioRxiv, or Open Science Framework (OSF).
- Accepted Manuscript (Postprint): The peer-reviewed version before typesetting can be deposited in institutional and subject repositories.
- Published Version: The final publisher’s version (PDF) can be deposited under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) License.
Permitted Repositories
Authors are encouraged to deposit their articles in the following types of repositories:
- Institutional Repositories: University-based repositories for long-term archiving.
- Subject-Based Repositories: Relevant discipline-specific databases such as medRxiv (for medical research) and Zenodo.
- National and Public Repositories: Repositories mandated by national or funding agencies.
- General Open-Access Repositories: Platforms such as ResearchGate and Academia.edu.
Indexing and Compliance with Open Access Policies
All articles published in ACMPH are indexed in major databases and comply with global Open Access mandates:
- Open Archives Initiative (OAI-PMH) – Facilitates structured metadata harvesting.
- Sherpa/Romeo – Ensures compliance with funders’ open-access policies.
- ORCID – Supports researcher identification and integration.
- CrossRef – Registers DOIs for persistent citation linking.
Licensing and Copyright Compliance
All published articles in ACMPH are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License. This allows:
- Unrestricted Distribution: Authors and users can freely share, distribute, and adapt the content.
- Proper Attribution: Any reuse must include appropriate credit to the original work.
- Compliance with Funding Policies: Many funders require open access and repository deposits.
